Denture Appointment Procedure
Five Simple Steps
1. Consultation
Dentures are a set of replacement teeth and can also replace the surrounding tissue when natural teeth are lost. There are two main categories of dentures, full or complete dentures and partial dentures.
All of our dentures are made in house, this way we can control the materials and customization of each case individually. We only use Diamond D denture acrylic on all of our dentures and use natural looking denture teeth to keep thing looking real and natural without that horrible “denture” look.
2. Scan of mouth
The next step after the consultation is to scan the mouth with the intraoral scanner. In this appointment our Dental Prosthetist takes scans of your upper and lower jaw.
3. The Bite And Tooth Colour Stage
This appointment is used to register your bite and jaw relation. This appointment is crucial to ensure a successful result; an incorrect bite registration can cause a multitude of issues including the inability to masticate (chew) food properly. The bite is registered using wax bite blocks fabricated by our dental technicians.
After the jaw relation is recorded you and our Dental Prosthetist decide on a colour of teeth that suites you. This shade choice is a team effort but the end choice is totally up to you.
4. The TRY-IN Stage
This is a crucial appointment, in this appointment you the patient have the opportunity to see what your new denture is going to look like. Our dental technician fabricates an exact replica of your denture. Any changes can be made easily and quickly before we finalize the denture. If you, the patient are happy with the way things look and feel and give us the go ahead we move to the denture insert appointment.
After the jaw relation is recorded you and our Dental Prosthetist decide on a colour of teeth that suites you. This shade choice is a team effort but the end choice is totally up to you.
5. The Denture Insert Appointment
This is the final appointment and the start of your new journey with your new dentures.
